After a long time of facing computers and working with code, you might find out that most of the engineers and you don't know how to talk to others who are not engineers anymore. Or, people will give feedback to you as the conversation is not clear as you think about.

No matter coding or communication, all the things need practice to be fluent. If you focus on coding, then you might find out that while you talk which is easy to bring out coding or technical scenarios. While you focus on communication, you might have coding flow issues. Therefore, some of the Project Managers that I met told me that they need to learn a lot of words and concepts in order to communicate and understand what their company’s engineers want or try to discuss with them.

The same things happen if you want to communicate with other types of roles. While I tried to communicate with quality assurance or sales, I had to understand what terms they are using, what they know and what is their working logic in order to communicate with them well. For me, I started to transfer my career path In order to communicate and to understand what others are doing and what is their logic format. Although I am still more of an Engineering type, I start to learn how to talk like a salesperson.

Another type of communication is to be a lead or to be a manager. Sometimes, I feel it is even harder while communicating with them. Even though I am a lead now, I still could not understand what my manager or other leads’ logic. I hope that one day if I become more of a sales-type or an operating manager for a company, maybe just maybe I could understand more about how their logic is functioned.
